I have to say this is a fantastic book. It is one of those books I wish I had when my children were little. It arrived in my post box only days ago.

Dr Lynch starts from day one through to 5 years old. It is full of very simple advice but common-sense advice. I loved its layout. Starting from what is normal in feeding, sleeping, poops, pees, behaviour. What’s not normal.

I can just imagine a parent tired and stress but needing to make the right decisions for their child. She also gives great information on why certain situations need further attention and some don’t. When the situations change what to look out for and then go see further medical advice.

I have followed Dr Lynch on Instagram for quite a while. On this platform she is never afraid of calling out trends that sound great but are in fact harmful. She doesn’t leave the person hanging or point fingers she follows up on the why. She is a practicing paediatric doctor and a mother so is really in tune with all that she has written.

Needless to say, I was thrilled when she announced she had written a book. I certainly did a preorder.

She is based in Ireland but the only difference on advice for me was the vaccination programme but not a lot. I work in France; this book works in any part of the world. There may be slight variable on the different systems and how they work. There is no difference on the illnesses or conditions she writes about. The other element I love is the respect that comes from Dr Lynch. Her trust of a parent’s instincts. Being a mother herself, she remembers the worry and stress of parenting.

I was in Ireland recently and saw the book everywhere, I was so happy to know that my copy will be in the post box waiting for me. There was also a great write up in the Irish Examiner, the review spoke so loud about the enormous importance of parents been heard. Dr Lynch has a no nonscience clear and reliable way of transmitting information to parents.

This is a must and I am quite sure it will be well used in the early years of Parenting.
